Chrysler Will Close 789 dealerships

Chrysler will cut 789 dealerships in an efforts to rebuild and rebound the company in this difficult economy. The news comes after Chrysler filed for bankruptcy early this morning.

Chrysler recommended that 40 dealerships in the state of Michigan be closed and 15 dealerships in the Metro Detroit area.

Jim Press, the Vice Chairman and President made a statement in response to the automaker's actions. "We are in the process of revitalizing Chrysler's business to succeed as a viable enterprise under new ownership in the future," said Press.

He also said,"The unprecedented decline in the industry has had a significant impact on our sales and forced us to reduce production levels to better match the needs of the market. With the downsizing of operations after the sale and reduction of plants and production, similar reductions must be made to the size of the dealer body. We appreciate the support of our dealers and regret this painful action. We wish market conditions made it possible to keep everyone."

The Michigan dealerships recommended for closing will be heard by Judge Arthur Gonzalez at 10:00 a.m. on June 3 in a hearing. The judge will decide whether to accept the list of 40 filing names. For more information click on the links below and the video.

Bing Wins Detroit's Mayoral Election

Today Detroit citizens chose Dave Bing as their new mayor. The former NBA star won with 52% of the votes compared to Cockrel's 48% votes. It was a close race indeed. Most seemed shocked by Bing's victory. According to the Detroit Free Press, Cockrel response was: "Bing has run a very excellent stealth campaign," he said. "I thought Bing was exhibiting campaign fatigue. I may have misread that." Following his victory, Bing made a very optimistic statement. "What I want to ask you for is just a little bit of patience," Bing said. "But as I bring my team into city government, we are going to make the changes that you voted us in to make." Chrisette Michele's "Epiphany" on Sale Today

Chrisette Michele's returns with her elegant voice but ditches the blues sound with Epiphany

Written by: R.D.P
Chrisette Michele returns with her unique, elegant voice and lyrics with her sophomore album, Epiphany .Chrisette Michele debuted onto the scene with a sound that was reminiscent of blues and classic R&B in her debut album, I Am.

With songs like “If I Have My Way” and “Love is You”, Michele captured a sound that was sweet, soulful, and simply beautiful. However , in her new album Epiphany ,she departs from the soft ballads and the blues- infused- soul sound of her debut album , I Am for a more up tempo and contemporary. Epiphany has12 tracks and includes one guest appearance by singer and songwriter, Ne-Yo .

"Epiphany', the leading single of the album (perhaps the best song on the album), is the perfect combination of Michele’s classic sound with an upbeat, catchy hook and beautiful piano as the background. Notebook is a sweet lyrical track with a mid tempo rhythm of love. Michele’s uses a light, airy vocal tone in the song, adding to its beauty.
What You Do featuring Ne-Yo, is a simple and sweet track that blends Michele’s unique vocals with a clapping beat, piano, and light R&B base. Essentially, Epiphany is good but lacks the beauty and uniqueness of Chrisette Michele’s classic sound that could be heard in I Am.
Check out the full album on or purchase in stores. Best Buy $9.99
