Plastic Makes Fashion Possible

Plastic in Fashion
Did you know that plastic is a common, popular material used in fashion today? From to bathing suits to party dresses, plastic is used to make everyday fashion look chic and amazing. Therefore it's important to not only be aware on how plastics makes you look good but also to actively find ways to recycle and save materials that can help create the next hottest trends in fashion.

Plastics Makes It Possible has partnered up with C Magazine editor at large and expert stylist, George Kotsiopoulos to provide helpful tips and information on how plastic is incorporated into everyday fashion items and provide helpful styling tips with these items.

Kotsiopoulos discusses how plastic fashion items and designs are not only only eco-friendly but make stylish statements in his blog posts and in a year-long video series on Plastics Makes It Possible "Stylists Corner".

On April 5th the Spring/Summer Trend video was released, the first in the series. Kotsiopoulos has also posted recent articles on how plastic makes nail art possible (Fashion at Your Fingertips with Plastic Nail Art) and shares the latest style tips for the current season (Guest Blog Post from Expert George Kotsiopoulos) .

Rihanna comes to the Palace!!!

Rihanna is known for her pop star appeal with hits that range from "Umbrella" to "S&M". And now Detroiters can catch the pop sensation in concert this June! Rihanna is bringing her 'Loud' tour to the Palace of Auburn Hills on Tuesday, June 14 at 7:30 pm.

She'll be bringing special guest and upcoming artist, J.Cole. The doors open at 6:00pm. Tickets are $102.75 , $62.75, $42.75, and $22.75. For more information, visit the Palace website.

Salon Paris Portland LA Grand Opening Celebration!

Looking for a new place to get your hair done? Then look no further because there's a new,upscale salon gracing the metro Detroit area for local residents to enjoy! This newest salon---Paris Portland LA. PPLA is located at 1938 Franklin near the River Walk ,providing a great view of the Renaissance Center. PPLA will host its grand opening April 23 from to 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

The salon was established in 1999 by married couple Chloe and Paris Culberson with the intent to attract a varied clientele and offers a range of specialized hair services. Several respected city figures will be attending and you can too! **Free services are limited to a wash, blow dry, and press and curl for women and basic hair cut for men.**

The Grand Opening events are as follows:

2:00-3:00pm - Welcome arrivals, refreshments

3:00-3:30pm- Official ribbon cutting ceremony including remarks by various dignitaries including City Council President Charles Pugh, City of Detroit Chief of Staff Shannon Holmes, Community Access Centers Deputy Director Tarence Wheeler and a representative from Detroit Public Schools Foundation.

3:30-4:30pm- Salon tours, meet & greet with salon owners

4:30-5:00pm- Recognitions, final remarks.

For the grand opening, Salon Paris Portland LA’s will offer free hair services to all new customers (both male and female) from April 25-29. All tips accepted throughout the week will be donated to DPS or you can make donations at the salon website:
