MDP'S NYFW 2013 Fall Picks

I loved so many of the NYFW collections! There are so many great looks and it's impossible to pick favorites. But, here are 5 designer collections that instantly spoke to me from NYFW:

*Nanette Lepore’s collection had everything you could want in a fall collection: prints, color, and texture. I especially loved the red rose print and the leather skirt paired with a plum colored wool and leather jacket. It was just enough variety for Fall.

*Bibhu Mohapatra created a very feminine collection that featured a theme of modern glam with a nod to 1930s elegance. The pencil and swing skirts with splashes of color , fur and silk made the collection pop.

*Jason Wu's Fall perspective was all about the everyday woman. His collection was a blend of high-glam fashion and sophistication. Wu emphasized clean whites, classic black, and fur. His collection could easily be seen on any woman on her way to work or after-five.

*Oscar de la Renta’s collection was very luxurious and was all about accenting the waistline. The collection  featured a flared skirt (peplum essentially) accents on several jackets and tops that was simple but beautiful. He also used tall bowl hats and mixed earthy colors with brilliance of bright colors. It was all very chic.

*Prabal Gurung focused on the colors of burgundy, army green, and black in his collection. The peplum, fur, and leather accents created a strong, edgy yet ultra feminine collection. I like to think of this collection as Fashion Warrior.
