Cheryl Lynn Pope hosts Princess Ball to honor little girls
Every young girl deserves a chance to feel empowered and beautiful. And Detroit author, Cheryl Lynn Pope understands and supports this completely. Pope wrote The Adventures of Princess Zaria, the first book in her children's book series to help build self-esteem in little girls which was inspired by her daughter, Zaria. Now, Cheryl Lynn Pope is bringing the adventures and dreams to life for little girls in the D with a special event that’s fit for a princess.
"The special part of this event is to recognize little girls who are doing wonderful things in their communities,” says Pope.
The ball promises a full-course meal, punch, and chocolate-covered desserts to dine on. Raffles and giveaways will also occur at the ball. Each princess will walk away with a special “swag” bag to take home.
During the ball, Pope will honor 10 DPS students who have made huge improvements, academically, this year. "The students who earn A's and B's , effortlessly, always receive honors and accolades. We wanted to uplift girls who struggle to receive those grades," says Pope.
Princess honorees include: Hannah Turner of www.hannahssocks.org (Charitable Princess), Amiya Alexander of www.amiyasdancebus.com (Enterprising Princess) and Erica Lowe Royalty Industries 2012 Princess of the Year.
The 10 girls to be honored represent FLICS, Schultze, Spain, Cody and Osborn Schools. Each girl will receive $25 Visa Gift Cards. For more information on the Royal Princess Ball call 313-412-9053 or visit http://www.princesszaria.com/.
