Fashion History

Ann Lowe was an African American fashion designer that created the ivory wedding gown that Jacqueline Kennedy wore on her big day to John F. Kennedy. Although many were not aware of this fact and she received little credit, Lowe would find success in the fashion industry. In 1960 she opened her own store called Anne Lowe Originals in the Saks Fifth Avenue store in New York.
